In 2012, the Society purchased an accommodation facility on the South Circular Road in Dublin 8 which is a 5 minute walk from the National Coagulation Centre (NCC). The facility consists of a two bedroom apartment and a separate bedsit apartment, which are next door to each other.
The apartments are available only to:
- People with haemophilia or related bleeding disorders from outside of Dublin, when attending St. James’s Hospital or Children’s Health Ireland at Crumlin for treatment, for a hospital appointment or for a review clinic.
- An immediate family member, a spouse, a partner and/or children of the person with haemophilia or related bleeding disorder from outside Dublin, when attending St. James’s Hospital or Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin for treatment, for a hospital appointment or for a review clinic, or while a family member is an in-patient.
The facility is particularly useful if a member is travelling up from the country to make an early hospital appointment, or if the member is attending hospital appointments on consecutive days.
A nominal fee of €10.00 per booking per night will be levied to offset the cost of cleaning and routine maintenance.
