Apartment Facility

The Society have an accommodation facility on the South Circular Road in Dublin 8 which is a 5 minute walk from the National Coagulation Centre (NCC). The facility consists of a two bedroom apartment and a separate bedsit apartment, which are next door to each other.  The facility is particularly useful if a member is travelling up from the country to make an early hospital appointment, or if the member is attending hospital appointments on consecutive days.

The apartments are available only to:

  • People with haemophilia or related bleeding disorders from outside of Dublin, when attending St. James’s Hospital or Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin for treatment, for a hospital appointment or for a review clinic.
  • An immediate family member, a spouse, a partner and/or children of the person with haemophilia or related bleeding disorder from outside Dublin, when attending St. James’s Hospital or CHI at Crumlin for treatment, for a hospital appointment or for a review clinic, or while a family member is an in-patient.

Cost:
A nominal fee of €10.00 per booking per night will be levied to offset the cost of cleaning and routine maintenance.

Confirmation of booking:
Once a booking has been received, a letter or email will be sent confirming the booking including date of arrival, departure, the nominal fee and asking the person to contact the office the day before arrival to confirm.

Cancellations:
Members must give 24 hours notice if they wish to cancel a booking they have made.

Check in time:
Between: 2pm and 5pm

Check out time:
Between: 9am and 11am

Checking into the apartment:
On the day before you check in an email will be sent to you confirming the details of your booking and information on how to obtain the keys. Payment will be required at this stage.

Checking out of the apartment:
On the day of check out you will be asked to bring rubbish to the bin shed and to plan any used bed linen and laundry in the basket provided. You will also be given instruction in relation to the return of keys.

PLEASE NOTE: AT THE TIME OF BOOKING YOU WILL BE ASKED TO CONFIRM THE DATE AND TIME OF YOU OR YOUR FAMILIES HOSPITAL APPOINTMENT OR IN-PATIENT ADMISSION. PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT BOOKINGS ARE TAKEN ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS AND YOU MUST AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE BOOKING RULES WHILST STAYING IN THE APARTMENT FACILITY.
