These guidelines for diagnosis and management of von Willebrand disease (VWD) were developed for clinicians — including family physicians, internists, obstetrician-gynaecologists, paediatricians, and nurse-practitioners—as well as haematologists and laboratory medicine specialists.

The guidelines provides information on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of VWD. Specific topics addressed in the report include initial screening, diagnosis, and management for patients with the disorder; along with directions for future research and recommendations for training for health professionals.
