The documentary ‘The Condom Man’ tells the story of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Ireland. It features Brian O’Mahony, chief executive of the Society, and nurse Breda Gahan, who share about the work and advocacy they did during this dark time. The documentary explains how Brian had provided condoms to men with haemophilia who had contracted HIV, to protect their partners from also getting the virus. This was at a time when it was illegal to buy condoms without a prescription from the doctor.
