CHI Message to Families attending CHI hospitals June 8 – 11 2021

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) continues to review the situation resulting from the recent HSE cyber-attack and have provided us with the following update:

Message to Families attending Children’s Health Ireland Hospitals

Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) is continuing to review the situation resulting from a national cyber attack on health IT systems.

We still do not have access to all our IT systems to function normally. We have limited access to a few systems but not enough to provide normal services.

We understand this is distressing for families of our services and our staff.

We still ask that you please do not attend our hospitals in Crumlin or Temple Street for an out-patient appointment or admission unless you are contacted.

A sincere thank you for the efforts being made and we ask for your co-operation for the remainder of this week.

Emergency Departments & Urgent Care Centre

We would like to reassure parents and families that our Emergency Department at CHI at Crumlin, CHI at Temple Street, CHI at Tallaght and CHI at Connolly (Urgent Care Centre) are open.

As there are manual processes in place, we will be slower than normal seeing our patients.

We are asking all families if their child’s care is not urgent to help us by only attending if your child needs emergency or urgent care.

CHI at Crumlin: Monday 8th June – Friday 11th June 2021.

All elective inpatient and day cases are cancelled.
All outpatient public and private clinics are cancelled.
Virtual and all non face-to-face clinics are cancelled.

All fracture trauma clinics are open and will run as normal, so please attend your appointment.

Clinically urgent inpatient, outpatient, day care treatments (cancer, haematology, cardiac) will take place. These patients will be contacted directly by the hospital to attend their scheduled appointments.

Please do not attend for scheduled radiology appointments unless:
– Your child is a patient of the oncology service
– Your child is due imaging under sedation or general anaesthesia (i.e. sleep)
– Your child’s booking has been made since 14th May 2021

Please call 01 409 6666 for any radiology queries.

If asked to attend the hospital, please bring any appointment letter and/ or correspondence with your child’s Medical Record Number (MRN). This will assist with retrieving your records.

Crumlin Patient Support: 01 409 6100 (24 hours)

Please note-limited access to ICT systems means limited access to patient information. Please bear with us. Thank you for understanding.
