We are now living in a time where the first generation of people with haemophilia will have to confront the challenges of ageing.
Many people with haemophilia can expect to live beyond their 70th or even 80th year. This is very reassuring and a testament to the improvement in comprehensive care and the availability of factor replacement therapy, for people with haemophilia, over the past decades.
We are committed to taking a strong role, on behalf of people with haemophilia, ensuring that the most effective pathways for monitoring, diagnosis and treatment for conditions associated with ageing, are put in place.
While no one wants to dwell on the degenerative effects of ageing, and the problems they may bring, being prepared can go a long way towards alleviating these challenges.
We are pleased to announce that we have organised an \’Ageing Conference\’, which will take place over the weekend of Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th June 2018 in Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise.
The Irish Haemophilia Society are delighted to be able to subsidise the cost of this conference for members.
The cost to attend is €70 per adult and includes attending the conference for the weekend, accommodation on Friday and Saturday night, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday and tea/coffee breaks.
