Under the auspices of the National Haemophilia Council, in 2014 audits were carried out at the three Comprehensive Care Centres in Ireland: The National Centre for Hereditary Coagulation Disorders in St. James’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin (now CHI at Crumlin) and Cork University Hospital.
The audit team consisted of Dr. David Perry, a doctor from the United Kingdom, Mr. David Page, a person with haemophilia who is also Chief Executive of the Canadian Haemophilia Society and Ms. Christine Harrington, a nurse from the United Kingdom. All three auditors have experience and knowledge of the requirements of a comprehensive haemophilia service. These audits are necessary to ensure that the best international practice is maintained.
