DESCRIPTION:The Irish Haemophilia Society are pleased to announce a conference for women with bleeding disorders\, which will take place on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December in the Grand Hotel in Malahide\, Co. Dublin. \nThis conference will feature talks and information on menstruation\, heavy menstrual bleeding\, pregnancy\, menopause\, diet\, panel discussions and a Pilates class. We hope this conference will help promote awareness of the needs of women with bleeding disorders\, as well as serving as an educational and informative event. \nRegistration for this event is now closed. \n  \n \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:We wish to announce that our ‘Annual General Meeting & Conference’ will take place over the weekend of the 3rd to 5th March 2023 in the Slieve Russell Hotel in Cavan. Registration packs have been posted out to members. For adults the weekend will kick off with the AGM on Saturday morning. The AGM will be followed by our conference\, which will be filled with many interesting talks. Please see the preliminary programmes below for more information. For children and teenagers\, we have an exciting weekend of activities planned. \nAs there will be no registration or payments desk on the Friday evening of the conference\, you must pay in full at the time of registration. All registration documents will be posted or emailed to members two weeks prior to the conference. If an adult (aged 18 years or over) who is booked in for the conference does not attend at least two sessions on Saturday and one session on Sunday\, they will automatically be charged a full non-member rate at the next conference they attend. Children must attend their age-appropriate programme and are not permitted to attend the adult talks. For the safety and welfare of your child/children\, it is also essential that at least one parent is onsite and contactable at all times\, in the event of an emergency. \nMembers\, registration for our AGM & Conference is now closed \n\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Our Von Willebrand Disorder Information Day is targeted towards anyone with Von Willebrand Disorder or interested in learning about the disorder. It is a free of charge event. \n \nDr Michelle Lavin\nDr. Michelle Lavin will be the principal speaker at the event. Dr. Lavin is a Consultant Haematologist at the National Coagulation Centre in St. James’s Hospital\, Dublin\, whose research focuses on low Von Willebrand Factor. She is a Co-Chair on the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) VWF Scientific SubCommittee (SSC) and collaborates with the ISTH Women’s Health SSC. \nDr. Lavin is one of the founders of Know Your Flow\, a project which aims to help women recognise if their heavy periods may indicate the presence of a bleeding disorder. \nFurther information to follow.

SUMMARY:October Members’ Conference 2022
DESCRIPTION:We are really looking forward to our annual October Members’ Conference\, which will take place over the weekend of the 14th to 16th of October in Mount Wolseley Hotel\, Carlow. We have a jam-packed weekend planned with an adults programme which includes both educational and practical interactive sessions and a programme for kids and teenagers full of games\, arts and crafts\, swimming and more. \nWe are expecting a lot of interest in this event and we would like to be able to accommodate registrations from as many members as possible. However\, this will depend on public health measures in place at the time of this event.
