Treatment Centre Audits
Under the auspices of the National Haemophilia Council, in 2014 audits were carried out at the three Comprehensive Care Centres in Ireland: The National Centre for Hereditary Coagulation Disorders in St. James’s Hospital, Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and Cork University Hospital. The audit team consisted of Dr. David Perry, a doctor from the United Kingdom, Mr. David Page, a person with haemophilia who is also Chief Executive of the Canadian Haemophilia Society and Ms. Christine Harrington, a nurse from the United Kingdom. All three auditors have experience and knowledge of the requirements of a comprehensive haemophilia service. These audits are necessary to ensure that the best international practice is maintained.
